As a member of the Teen Board at Christ the King, you are more than a volunteer; you are a Living Bridge. Junior high students look at you to see what a "real" Catholic looks like. Because of this, we hold ourselves to a higher standard of leadership, integrity, and joy.

1. The "Big Sibling" Standard
Role Model Mentality: We are here to be the "cool big brothers and sisters," not peers. We don't gossip with the middle schoolers or join in on their "drama."

Language & Attitude: Our words build up; they don't tear down. We avoid coarse language, sarcasm that hurts, or exclusive "inside jokes" that make new kids feel left out.

Active Presence: When the session starts, my phone goes away. My focus is 100% on the kids in the room. I am here to engage, not to "hang out" with other high schoolers.

2. The Digital Witness
Social Media Integrity: I understand that junior highers will find my Instagram, TikTok, or Snapchat. I commit to posting content that reflects my role as a Christian leader.

Digital Boundaries: I will not "Direct Message" (DM) or private message junior high students. All group communications will go through the official Coordinator/Director or include a parent/guardian.

3. The Liturgy of Showing Up
Consistency: The middle schoolers are looking for someone they can trust. If I say I’ll be there, I’m there.

The 24-Hour Rule: If I have a game, a rehearsal, or a family conflict, I will notify the Coordinator at least 24 hours in advance so they can adjust the plan.

The Huddle: I will arrive 15 minutes early for the "Pre-Game Huddle" and stay 10 minutes late for the "Post-Game De-brief" to help clean up and evaluate the night.

4. Personal Faith Growth
A Seeker's Heart: I don’t have to be perfect, but I do have to be a seeker. I commit to attending Sunday Mass and spending time in personal prayer so that I have something real to share with the kids.

Teachable Spirit: I will listen to the feedback of the Coordinator and Director, knowing they are coaching me to become a better leader for life.
