Marriage Preparation

Marriage preparation is your opportunity to spend time focusing on the issues that will most likely have a major impact on your lifetime relationship with each other. A minimum preparation period of six months is required for all Catholic weddings taking place in the Archdiocese of Oklahoma City. At Christ the King, couples have a few options from which to choose:

• Christ the King offers a 3-day Marriage Preparation Weekend Retreat (Friday evening through Sunday evening) twice per year.

• Christ the King will pair you with a Sponsor Couple, who will be assigned to meet with you, usually at the sponsor couple's home, 4-8 times over the course of several weeks.

• If unusual circumstances make a marriage preparation retreat or working with a sponsor couple impossible, there is an Archdiocesan Option. Please contact Justin Pham for more details.

Our marriage prep coordinators have helped countless couples to discern and develop the skills to enable them to grow in communication and intimacy, equipping them with the tools to make their sacramental union a healthier and more fulfilling relationship for the long term.

Cost: 
• $75 Christ the King parishioner fee
• $100 Non-parishioner fee
• Scholarships available upon request

Both the sponsor couple and retreat options make use of the For Better and Forever workbook. 

The retreat is from Friday evening until Sunday afternoon and is usually offered at least twice a year. Attendance is limited. Schedule is as follows:

• Friday, 7 - 10:30pm
• Saturday, 8:30am - 6pm (includes Mass)
• Sunday, 8:30am - 5:30pm
